Knowing the path vs. walking the path
I know I shouldn’t stress about things out of my control. That no amount of worry will change them… and yet I worry.
I know I should stretch, or meditate, or journal daily, and yet I struggle to do any of them consistently.
There is a big difference between knowing the path, and walking the path.
But too often when we “know” something, we disregard it. We hear someone talking about how important exercise is, or healthy eating, or working on our relationships, and we think
“Of course that’s important, I know that.”
We might know all the right things to do… but are we doing them? If not, learning them a few more times will help cement them.
But at the end of the day, nothing is learned through just receiving information. You have to do something with it. You have to put in the repetitions.
How many books on fitness could you read before getting the body of your dreams?
Exactly.
So why do we think anything else is different?
Don’t just know the path. Walk it, and walk it daily.
