Our phone’s are killing our productivity.
You bring your phone to the bathroom… you take five extra minutes.
You’re scrolling in bed, instead of sleeping.
You’re gonna read a book… but gotta check that one last message.
Things take us twice as long because we compulsively use our phones.
I’ve seen it in the gym, where people are on their phone five to ten minutes between sets. Or in traffic, when someone sits at a green light because they’re too busy on their phone to watch the road.
How much more would you get done if you didn’t have a phone?
Would you have already gotten in shape, written that book, started that business?
Our phone is like a black hole that sucks up bits of our time all throughout the day. And it’s so subtle we don’t even notice it, but look at your screen time and it might tell a different story.
But the problem isn’t exactly the phone.
The problem is treating our phone like a companion that needs to be with us 100% of the time.
So I’m not saying you should get rid of your phone completely, but keep it out of sight and out of mind more often, and especially when you’re doing something important.
Watch how much more you get done.
