I had no reason to believe I could make it when I started studying programming and data science.
There I was, sweating my a** off in a 100 degree warehouse, when I thought:
“This can’t be it for my life… I’m meant for more.”
I was closing in on 30 with nothing to show for it.
No career, no money, no skills… And when I found out about coding, I thought this could be my golden ticket.
But I had no degree, had never written a line of code in my life, and had a track record of quitting things before I even got started…
So what gave me the audacity to think I could go from box slinger to self taught tech worker?
Nothing… I just took a risk.
I bet on myself.
Kobe Bryant said:
“If you’re gonna bet on somebody. Bet on yourself.”
But a lot of times it’s easier to bet on other people.
We cheer our friends and family on, but then shy away from our own dreams… afraid of failure.
We play small.
But achieving a goal isn’t always about making a logical decision…
Sometimes it means taking a leap of faith.
It means starting now, regardless of your past, and even if you feel like you’re not ready.
Even if you can’t see a clear path to your goal yet... believe that you’ll figure it out along the way.
Decide what you want, bet on yourself, and take the first step.
You’ve got this.
